The GCI World (Global Consumer Intelligence) program is a free, online data science and AI course offered by the University of Tokyo through the Matsuo–Iwasawa Laboratory.
It is designed for students worldwide who want to build strong foundations in Python, data analysis, and machine learning.

The program is delivered entirely online in English and combines weekly lectures, hands-on assignments, a data competition, and a final project. It is ideal for beginners to intermediate learners aiming to enter data science, AI, or tech-related careers.

• ID Registration Deadline: Late March

• Application Deadline: Early April

• Program Start: Early April

• Program Duration: ~3 months (14 weeks)

Eligibility

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled as a student at the program start date
  (middle school, high school, undergraduate, graduate, or technical/vocational school).

• Be able to participate in an English-taught program.

• Have access to a computer and stable internet.

• Be committed to completing assignments independently.

Not eligible:

• Graduated students (not enrolled at start date).

• Language school or non-accredited institution students.
