The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is one of the most respected creative competitions for teens, inviting young artists and writers to submit their best original work for recognition, awards, and scholarship opportunities. First established in 1923, the Awards celebrate creative voices in visual art and literary writing from students in grades 7–12 (ages 13+).
Who can participate:
Teens in grades 7–12 (ages 13+)
Individual or school/group entries are welcome
Art & Writing categories:
29 disciplines including painting, illustration, photography, poetry, short stories, screenplays, and more
Work is judged on originality, technical skill, and personal vision
Submission guidelines:

Entries are judged first regionally, then nationally
