Moonshot is a special Hack Club event where up to 100 selected teen coders (ages 13–18) from around the world travel to Orlando, Florida from December 12–15. During the event, participants “hack by day” — working on software, hardware, art, or video projects — and enjoy excursions such as a trip to Universal Studios and a visit to the Kennedy Space Center, with a chance to witness a rocket launch.
To qualify, participants must log at least 75 hours of work on open-source projects, using either a time-tracking tool (for software) or a journaling system (for hardware, art, or video editing).
Participation is free (no entry fee), but travel costs (e.g., airfare) are not automatically covered — instead, participants earn “stardust” that can be redeemed for travel stipends in the “Moonshop.”
If selected among the first 100 eligible participants and approved, Moonshot offers a unique combination of coding, community, travel, and real-world adventure.
