Global Canvas is the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation’s annual international children’s wildlife art competition. The 2026 theme, “The Book of Life”, encourages young artists to explore the beauty and importance of biodiversity and to imagine ways we can protect species and habitats before pages are lost forever.
Who can participate:
Individual young artists aged 4–16
School or group entries are welcome
Art mediums accepted:
Painting
Collage
Mixed media
Any traditional medium that can be photographed or scanned
Submission guidelines:
Upload clear photos or scans of your artwork
Optionally, include a short video explaining your piece or creative process
Physical artworks should not be mailed
Competition structure:
Judged by age categories: 4–7, 8–11, 12–16
Entries are reviewed for creativity, originality, and alignment with the theme
