The LSESU Economics Society is LSE's largest academic society, with over 800 members across all disciplines. It runs the annual Economics Symposium, weekly "Sen Club" discussions with prominent economists, and a student-run research journal called Rationale. Its best-known outward-facing program is the LSESU Economics Society Essay Competition, running since 2017, which sets prompts written directly by current LSE Economics Department professors and draws entrants from over 60 countries each year.
